January 30, 2023 – The management of FBL LLP is proud to announce the appointment of Marie-Ève Bessette, Sylvain Caron, and Nicholas Joron as partners for their remarkable contribution to our business community.
Marie-Ève Bessette, CPA Auditor, CBV
Marie-Ève Bessette completed a Bachelor of Business Administration at Concordia University in 2007. She joined the FBL team in July 2007 and subsequently obtained her CPA designation in 2009. Wanting to continue her career path, Marie-Ève specialized in business valuation, obtaining her Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation in 2014. Over the years, she has acquired expertise in various sectors, including valuation, purchase and sale, business transfers, and financing, working with numerous SMEs and large corporations.
Marie-Ève stands out for her personalized approach and dedication to both clients and colleagues. She is a reference for both FBL professionals and clients. In a spirit of collaboration, Marie-Ève ensures she is always available and responds to everyone as quickly as possible.
Sylvain Caron, CPA, CBV, CFF
Sylvain has worked in financial advisory services and business valuation since 2005. He holds the designations of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), and Certified in Financial Forensic (CFF) for forensic accounting. He joined FBL in 2017, after 12 years at an international firm, to share his knowledge and work with entrepreneurs across Quebec.
In addition to developing expertise in business valuations that span a wide range of sizes, industries, and issues, Sylvain has worked on numerous transaction files for buyers and sellers, particularly in planning and due diligence. He has served as an expert in numerous litigation matters, primarily in the context of shareholder disputes, expropriation, and financial loss calculations. He has been recognized as an expert before the Superior Court and the Administrative Tribunal of Quebec.
Nicholas Joron, CPA Auditor
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in business administration and his CPA Auditor designation, Nicholas Joron pursued his studies in taxation at HEC Montréal, earning a DESS (Dissertation on Graduate Studies) and, subsequently, a master’s degree. Having joined FBL in 2018, Nicholas is recognized for his compassionate approach, his rigorous work, and his commitment to providing impeccable client service. His colleagues and clients alike describe him as dedicated, extremely generous with his time and sound advice.
He specializes particularly in corporate reorganizations and assisting his clients with business acquisition and sale transactions. His versatility remains a major asset for the firm and its clients. Needless to say, Nicholas actively contributes to the success of his clients and their projects and has established himself over the years as an essential resource for FBL.
